Bio
Rodger Corser (born 1973) is an Australian actor best known for his role as Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Owen in the television crime series Underbelly, based on the Melbourne underworld gang wars, in 2008.
He is also known for his role as Lawson Blake in Rush.
Rodger graduated from Deakin University in 1996 with a B.A. Media Studies (Honours). His breakthrough role came in 1988 when he was cast in the leading role (from a field of 6,000) in Rent, the musical.
The show was a box office hit over its Sydney and Melbourne seasons and launched Rodger into a successful career in television. His other theatre credits include Leader of the Pack and Below.
Rodger since has appeared in some of Australia’s most popular series, including the dramas Water Rats, Stingers, McLeod's Daughters, Home and Away and the comedy Last Man Standing, for which he played one of the lead roles.
Rodger's US television credits include the NBC mini-series The Starter Wife whose cast included Debra Messing, Miranda Otto and Judy Davis; and the US TV series Beastmaster.
He also played Sam Thomas in Find815.com, an on-line drama/game related to the Lost TV series.
More recently Rodger has gained cult status for his role Detective Steve Owen in Channel Nine’s critically acclaimed Underbelly.
In 2009 he took to the stage in the theatre production Secret Bridesmaids Business and narrated the Network Ten series Recruits.
He also had a starring role as Roger Shepherd, the director of the rival camp Ridgefield, in the comedy-drama television series Camp, in 2013.
