Mary Tyler Moore was an American actress best known for her roles in television sitcoms, in particular as Dick Van Dyke's wife on The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961–1966) and for her role as Mary Richards, a 30-something single woman who worked as a local news producer in Minneapolis, in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, from 1970–1977.
Moore died at the age of 80 on 25 January, 2017, at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut from cardiopulmonary arrest complicated by pneumonia after having been placed on a respirator the previous week.
