Bio
David Johnson is a South African actor best known for his role as Dr. Bennett, the love interest of Lois (Samantha Tyelbooi), in the second season of the SABC1 drama series Society, from 2009-2010.
Johnson graduated from UCT's Drama Department in 2005 with a Diploma in Musical Theatre and Performance and went straight into playing the controversial role of Ferdi on the SABC dramedy series This Life.
Also in TV, he played the role of Sergeant Godfrey Botha in the third Heartlines film, Crossroads, in 2006, and the character of Dwayne in the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan.
His stage credits include the title role in Hamlet, The Boy Who Fell from the Roof, Fred Abrahamse's Maynardville production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice and Bacchus in die Boland.
Johnson directed Plucked by Loraine Burger and Hunt by Deborah Vieyra for the National Arts Festival, Grahamstown fringe programme. As a musician he performs with the local band Pola Royd.
David teaches dance at Northlink College and is involved in the development of heritage sites in South Africa.
