Amanda Bynes is an American actress gbest known for her starring role as Holly Tyler in the television sitcom What I Like About You (2002-2006), and for her leading role as Viola in the 2006 feature film She's The Man.
Bynes was born in Thousand Oaks, California. The youngest of three children, she became interested in acting and performing from the age of three, when she would say her older sister Jillian's lines with her while she performed in plays.
Her acting debut was in 1996, when she auditioned for and got the role as a newcomer on the television series All That.
In 1999, 13-year-old Amanda was given her own variety show, The Amanda Show. In 2001, she co-starred in Big Fat Liar (2002). She also won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award and, at age 15, The Amanda Show ended its run.
In 2002, she began co-starring in What I Like About You. In 2003, she won two KCA Awards and starred in What a Girl Wants. At the 17th annual KCA Awards, she won an award for best actress for her role in What a Girl Wants (2003).
She graduated from Thousand Oaks High School's independent study program.
