Bio
Hugh Dillon is a Canadian musician and actor best known for his leading roles in television, as Mike Sweeney in Durham County (2007-2010) and as sniper Ed Lane in Flashpoint, from 2008-2012.
He also had a starring role as Francis Becker, the sadistic C.O. of the Intensive Management Unit (a.k.a. The Row) at the Elliot Bay detention facility, in the third and final season of the mystery crime drama television series The Killing, in 2013.
Dillon first earned notoriety in Canada and abroad as the lead singer in the multi-platinum rock and roll band, The Headstones.
It was early on in The Headstones' success when Dillon caught the attention of legendary filmmaker Bruce McDonald who cast him in Dance Me Outside and as the critically acclaimed lead in Hard Core Logo.
The Genie-nominated actor has since starred in the highly praised Sundance Film Festival award-winning movie, Down To the Bone as well as notable roles in Lone Hero, Assault on Precinct 13, The Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning.
Dillon has never strayed far from his musical roots, bringing his music with him to film and television including Durham County, the Jennifer Lynch-directed movie Surveillance Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and his album Works Well with Others.
Dillon was nominated for a 2008 Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for Hugh’s portrayal of Mike Sweeney in Durham I.
He also garnered rave reviews as Ed Lane in the CBS/CTV co-production Flashpoint in July 2008 and has appeared on TV in The Eleventh Hour, ReGenesis and Degrassi: The Next Generation.
