Miss SA Bio
Matapa Maila, 24, is a Lead Logistics advisor for Sasol Oil in Johannesburg. She has done a post graduate honours in Logistics with UNISA.
She has registered with Wits University for a leadership in oil and economics degree in 2010. Her dream is to complete an MBA at the London School of Economics.
Her greatest inspirations in life include Tyra Banks, for altering the stereo type mentality of models; Martin Luther King for redefining freedom; Basetsana Khumalo, for taking full advantage of the platform Miss SA afforded her; and her mother, for being the epitome of class and elegance a great source of strength.
"As 2010 is a very important year for South Africa, my plans if I were to become Miss SA would be to use the platform provided by the 2010 World Cup to reach out to the world, to champion causes that promote and develop sport in communities and to head charities that are close to my heart like POWA, Tapologo, and Smiley Kids.
"I plan to raise funds by participating in The Argus Cycle race and also The Comrades."
