Bio
Beau Mirchoff is an American-born Canadian actor best known for his role as Danny Bolen on the comedy-drama television series Desperate Housewives, from 2009-2010.
He currently stars as Matty McKibben in the comedy-drama television series Awkward, since 2011.
Currently living in L.A. Beau grew up on Vancouver Island in British Columbia (BC), Canada. He was born on a Friday the 13th, and in Seattle. He lived there for two days before moving up North. So Beau is a dual citizen of both countries.
An accomplished athlete - American football and lacrosse being his main high school sports - at the age of 16 Beau decided to step up his acting game and auditioned for his first feature film.
He tried out for Dimension's spoof comedy Scary Movie 4, which was shooting around Vancouver - and got the supporting role of the son to the lead character.
From there Beau recurred on CBC's Heartland, landed a supporting role in Sony's Grudge 3 - from a taped audition (which was submitted on a Friday and that next Friday Beau flew to Bulgaria for five weeks of work).
Then Beau came to visit L.A. - and never left. He literally quit his Vancouver bar job over the phone. Once in Los Angeles, Beau landed a year's series regular role on Desperate Housewives and is currently a series regular on MTV's new comedy Awkward playing love interest Matty.
Beau's other film work includes a supporting role in DreamWorks' I Am Number 4 and a lead role in indie comedy The Secret Lives of Dorks.
Beau's other interests include camping, hiking, kayaking, electric guitar and supporting all the Seattle sports teams.
