Bio
Tendeka Matatu is a South African producer and director who has produced several high-profile South African films including Straight Outta Benoni, Max & Mona and Jerusalema.
He started his film career as an assistant director, working on numerous feature films and TV series in Zimbabwe and London.
He then spent a number of years as production manager of commercials and music videos for renowned international director Tony Kaye's London Company, K Films.
Since then Tendeka has produced several feature films in South Africa including the multi-award winning Max & Mona by Teddy Mattera, the box office hit Straight Outta Benoni, Footskating 101 and the gangster epic Jerusalema, which was released to critical and box office acclaim in South Africa and internationally.
Tendeka was also involved in Richard E. Grant's directorial debut, Wah Wah.
He was a judge on the SABC1 reality competition television series Class Act, from March to June, 2010.
