Lauren German is an American actress best known for her role as the hitchhiker in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as well as for starring in the 2007 film Hostel: Part II, in which she plays one of the lead characters.
She also starred as Agent Lori Weston in the police procedural action television series Hawaii Five-0, from 2011-2012.
German's breakout role was in the 2002 feature film A Walk to Remember, directed by Adam Shankman, where she starred with Mandy Moore and Shane West. Shortly after, she starred in A Midsummer Night's Rave, an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play.
In 2005, Lauren appeared in Mathew Cole Weiss's romantic-comedy, Standing Still, and RX, a thriller directed by Ariel Vroman.
German's most memorable role was playing the female lead in Hostel II, in which she performed all of her own stunts. Her first introduction to horror films came while playing the role of the hitchhiker in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Her additional feature film credits include What We Do Is Secret, with Shane West and Bijou Philips; the romantic comedy, Spin; The Dark Country; and Made for Each Other.
German's television credits include Memphis Beat, Human Target, Happy Town, 7th Heaven, Going to California, Sex, Love and Secrets, Undressed and Shotgun Love Dolls.
Born and raised in Orange County, California, German grew up with a passion for theatre and acting. Knowing that's what she wanted to pursue, German attended The School of Theater at the Orange County High School of the Arts and went on to study Theater and Cinema at the University of Southern California.
In her first work on stage, Lauren played the lead roles in the productions of both Peter Pan and Oliver.
Currently, Lauren resides in Los Angles.
