Orlando Pita is an American hairstylist who has created looks for Michael Kors, Versace, YSL, Prada, Valentino, Dior and John Galliano, among others.
Pita was named one of the most influential people in the world of fashion by W Magazine in October 2007. His innovation and influence comes to life in his experimental editorial fashion and beauty features, and his contributions to prominent campaigns and runway spectacles worldwide.
Pita's inventive hairstyles translate to acclaim in the art world as well. The hairstyle he created for Christian Dior's Egyptian-themed couture show garnered him Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum's National Design Triennial: Design Life Now recognition.
The award seeks out the most innovative American designs – from film to furniture – and Pita was the first ever hairstylist in the exhibit. His repertoire even includes a guest spot on a high-fashion episode of the television series Sex and the City.
