Jason Mesnick is an American account executive in the field of estate and legacy planning best known as the runner-up on the fourth season of the reality competition The Bachelorette and later appearing as The Bachelor in the 13th edition of that show.
He is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but moved to Washington at the age of eight. Jason attended the University of Washington, where he earned a BA in psychology.
A sports lover, Jason used to be a golf professional at a local club. He also volunteers for the Big Brother/Big Sisters of America.
He is the first single dad in the history of The Bachelor. He lives with his son Ty after divorcing Ty's mother in 2006.
Mesnick was chosen as the thirteenth Bachelor after he competed on season four of The Bachelorette. Jason was rejected by Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas after making it to the show's final two.
His popularity with fans led to ABC recruiting him as their next Bachelor.
