Torrey DeVitto is an American actress and former fashion model best known for her role as Melissa Hastings, Spencer's older sister, in the mystery teen drama series Pretty Little Liars.
She is also known for her television roles as Karen Kerr on Beautiful People, as Carrie on One Tree Hill, as Dr. Meredith Fell on The Vampire Diaries and as Maggie Hall on Army Wives.
On the film front, DeVitto was cast in Amy Makes Three as Carla Forrest, a happily married wife who loses her child after giving birth prematurely. The film takes a twisted turn after Carla and her husband, played by Mike Doyle, discover the ghost of their former child.
DeVitto was born and raised in Huntington, New York, to Mary and Liberty DeVitto, the longtime drummer for Billy Joel. She spent most of her early years traveling on the road with her parents, and by the time she could walk, DeVitto fell in love with music and acting.
With music in her genes, DeVitto began playing violin at six years old. Soon, she began to study acting and dance and, by the time she was 15, started working in commercials and modeling professionally.
DeVitto is very active with a number of philanthropic organisations and is also Hospice Ambassador. She strongly supports PETA and the Humane Society of the United States.
Her first break in acting came in 1999 when she participated in the Aaron Spelling production Safe Harbor. One year later, she booked the Nickelodeon pilot Noah Knows Best.
After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles, where her career began to take off. She landed roles in the CW series The Vampire Diaries as Meredith Fell, as well as Melissa on ABC Family's hit show Pretty Little Liars. However, she is most notable for her performance as Carrie on the CW drama series One Tree Hill.
DeVitto's additional television credits include guest roles on Scrubs, Dawson's Creek, The King of Queens, Drake & Josh, CSI: Miami and Castle.
In 2015 she began a starring role as Dr. Natalie Manning, an emergency pediatric medicine specialist, on the medical drama television series Chicago Med.
