One Day Leader Bio
23-year old Vanencia Vollenhoven earned her B.Ed Intermediate Phase at the University of Pretoria.
Vanencia says "My purpose in life is unlimited; I have not explored half of the available opportunities out there. I live by the motto 'If you only start working on your dreams tomorrow, it is already too late.'
"This motto gives me the right to dream and achieve ideals. I am currently working on four different trusts namely; Jabavu family trust; Tshawe Jabavu educational trust; Samoa Jabavu little league trust and Whitney Jabavu future lady trust.
"When these trusts are up and running they will serve an educational, social and cultural purpose to impoverished families and individuals."
On her vision as a leader she says "My dream for South Africa is that one day our children can grow up under better conditions. I want freedom of association to be a reality and not an ideal that many individuals still quarrel with.
"That multilingualism is encouraged and that all languages are celebrated openly and freely. That Human Rights day, the 21st of March, is benchmarked with all South African Patriots that have gone before living and fighting for that right.
"That Heritage Day, 24th of September, be celebrated with us as South Africans; that we can respect, acknowledge, accept and celebrate the customs of our vast South African Heritage.
"My dream for South Africa is that my brother can be my brother no matter his skin colour, that my friend will not judge me because of my financial stability but rather befriend me for the true nature of my individuality.
"I dream of South Africa being the Head State of Africa. I dream of South Africa having the monopoly over other countries. I have the vision of future generations studying about our country, its birth and the wars it has faced.
"I dream the cruelty of our forefathers be forgiven and not forgotten because it is one destination that I would not like any individual exposed to.
"I see a South Africa that has the best monetary value. That our security can be of such nature that if you have no VISA you may not enter, that our textile industry can flourish and our cultures speak the language of our flag.
"Peace, blood, warmth and pride and the acknowledgement that we have great leaders like Nelson Mandela and many more to come."
