Bio
Aisling Loftus is an English actress best known for her roles as murdered prostitute Gemma Adams on the television drama series Five Daughters and as Lindsey on the TV movie Dive, both in 2010.
She also has a starring role as sales girl Agnes Towler, seen by waiter Victor Colleano as a kindred spirit; by Henri Leclair as an ingénue; by her brother as his rock; and by her father as an overreaching fraud, in the period drama television series Mr Selfridge.
The daughter of Irish parents, Loftus - a native of Nottingham - joined the Television Workshop at age nine, made her television debut a year later, and has been studying and working since.
In 2006, she appeared in the award-winning independent punk rock film This Is England, and she starred in the title role in the short film, Jade, which was honoured at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival.
Viewers may recognise Loftus from Page Eight or Case Histories. She has appeared in numerous British television productions, starring as a problem teenager in the comedy The Fattest Man in Britain, and alongside Gina McKee (The Forsyte Saga) as a diver for Great Britain's 2012 Olympic team in Dive.
In 2009, Screen International named her "Star of Tomorrow".
