Bio
Deirdre Wolhuter is a South African actress best known for her leading roles in the Afrikaans television drama series Meeulanders and Soutmansland.
She has acted in numerous other television series including Going Up and Going Up Again, Madam and Eve, Orion, Charlie Jade, Khululeka, Backstage, Egoli and League of Glory.
Feature films she has acted in include The Red Phone, The Crane Man, Borderline and Master Harold and the Boys.
Most of her work has been done in theatre and she has appeared in numerous stage productions including the Shakespearean plays A Midsummer Night's Dream, King Lear, The Tempest, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Macbeth and Hamlet.
Other theatre productions include Boeing Boeing, Arms and the Man, God's Country, Kringe in 'n Bos, Sticks and Stones, My Fat Friend, Caught in the Net and Careful.
She has also been a newsreader and presenter at Good Hope FM and has had numerous roles in Afrikaans and English radio dramas and serials. She is also a sought-after bilingual voice artist.
Deirdre attended the University of Cape Town where she studied for a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Performers' Diploma in Speech & Drama.
