Bio
Rikki Brest is a South African drummer, drum teacher, actress, TV presenter, radio presenter and reality television personality best known for appearing on the reality television series Clifton Shores, in 2012.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, Rikki boasts an extensive portfolio in several industries. It all started with dancing at the age of five, in all styles including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, funk and hip hop.
Choreographing for shows as well as performing in many, Rikki qualified as a dancing teacher in 2004.
In 1998 Rikki started playing drums. She added it to her school subjects as an extra subject and qualified through the National School of Arts.
In 2004 she went to COPA (Campus of Performing Arts) where she studied Sound Engineering and Music Performance - majoring in Drums, while also lecturing stage craft.
It was here that Rikki co-founded Chix with Stix, an all-girl percussion trio that would later become an integral part of her life.
After COPA Rikki enrolled at UJ and left in 2007 with a BCom degree in marketing. In 2008 she played drums for Evolver and toured with Prime Circle and The Parlotones.
From 2009–2010 Rikki worked as Operations Manager at a media and advertising company, while still playing drums for Chix with Stix as well as teaching drums privately.
As Rikki's career grew she was cast in a number of prominent music videos and television commercials. 2010 saw her on the big screen as the female lead in the movie Eternity.
In 2011 she presented a television show on SuperSport for Drifting, called F1-X Chronicles.
Her love for drums extends to helping other achieve their drumming dreams by teaching drums privately from her studio.
In June 2012, Rikki was invited to present the Top Gear Festival in Durban as the pit lane reporter and track presenter together with the legendary Tiff Needell and Sasha Marteningo.
In July 2012, Rikki temporarily joined the cast of the SABC3 soapie Isidingo, playing Nadia Simmons.
