Bio
Schelaine Bennett is a South African actress and television presenter best known as a host of the SABC2 teen magazine programme Hectic Nine-9, from 2007-2009.
Having graduated from Pinelands High School in Cape Town in 2003, she attended the Waterfront Theatre School from 2004-2007 where she studied dance, musical theatre and drama.
Her first television role was a cameo in the second season of the SABC1 police drama series Interrogation Room, in 2005. Other television series she has acted in include the UK mini-series The Prisoner and the Mzansi Magic sitcom S.I.E.S.
Schelaine has also danced in a number of Bollywood productions including Welcome, Kal Kisne Dekha and Kal Kisne Dekha. She has also apepared in a number of music videos as a performer, notably Natasha Beddingfield's "Single", Chris Chameleon's "Shine" and "Thando" by Lloyd Cele and Loyiso Bala.
She has also appeared in numerous commercials for clients such as Papaya Youth Mobile Network, Siyayinqoba, Spier Wine, Old Mutual, Hyundai, Knights Whiskey, Oude Meester and Redds.
In 2012 she had a starring role in the SABC1 mini-series Goba Msenge, an adaptation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew which is set in a contemporary South African setting.
Between 2014 and 2017 she played Marlene Davids on three seasons of the Mzansi Magic drama series Saints and Sinners.
In 2016/2017 she had a starring role on the second season of the e.tv telenovela Gold Diggers, where she played Jill Breytenbach, a fierce detective determined to bring down the illegal business of Titus (Daniel Hadebe), the season villain.
On 1 December 2017 she debuted on the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy, as Zoe, daughter to Michael Phillips (Terence Bridgett) who debuted on the same day.
On 8 September 2020 she debuted on Scandal! in the role of Chevonne, Stokkies' (Wayne van Rooyen) latest new love interest.
