Sophie Ndaba (née Mphasane, born 1972) is a South African actress best known for her role as Queen Moroka on the SABC1 soapie Generations.
Sophie was born in Soweto and attended high school in Zimbabwe , before becoming a model. She made her television debut with the series Class of '92.
After that she had supporting roles in Thlaranthlophe, and Yizo Yizo 1. Next came cameo roles in local productions such as Egoli and Soul City.
Sophie's big break came when she landed the role of Queen Moroka in soapie Generations, even though she had no formal acting training.
In 2002 Sophie was nominated in the category Best Soap Actress in the Duku Duku Awards. She won the award in 2003, when she was also nominated in the Elle/Sunday Times Style Awards, in the category of Most Stylish Actress. In 2004 she received a nomination for the Children's M-Net Awards, in the category Best Soap Actress.
Sophie also does voice overs for cartoon characters in television commercials.
In 2015/2016 Sophie played Harried on the SABC3 casino telenovela High Rollers and in May 2016 she was signed to Isidingo to play Nkadimeng, mother to the characters Lerato and Kamogelo.
