Barry Sloane is an English actor best known to international audiences for his starring role as Aiden Mathis is a mystery man from Emily's past, in the mystery thriller television series Revenge, since 2012.
He has appeared in In His Life: The John Lennon Story, the award winning Pleasureland, The Mark of Cain and Hollyoaks. Barry also appeared next to Michelle Monaghan and Michael Keaton in the movie Penthouse North in late 2012.
Barry was born and raised in Liverpool, England. He has appeared in numerous TV shows, notably the BAFTA award winning dramas Pleasureland and The Mark of Cain.
In 2006 Barry made his West End Debut in Willy Russell's Blood Brothers playing the role of Sammy. He also played the role on the UK tour.
In 2007, Sloane began playing serial killer Niall Rafferty in Channel 4's Hollyoaks. He was nominated twice for Villan of the Year - in 2008 and 2009 - and once for Best Newcomer 2009 at the National Television awards.
In the summer of 2009 Barry appeared as Troy Whitworth in Jez Butterworth's critically acclaimed play Jerusalem at The Royal Court Theatre London. The play received good reviews and was given a West End transfer in January 2010. After a record-breaking, sell-out run it was announced that the play would transfer once again, this time to Broadway.
In 2010 he appeared in the ITV Drama adaptation of Peter Robinsons novel Aftermath and later that year played Kieran Callaghan in the BBC serial medical drama Holby City.
Barry made his Broadway debut in Jerusalem at the Music Box Theatre in New York in 2011. In 2011 Variety announced that Barry had landed the role of Chad in Joseph Rueben's Penthouse North, starring alongside Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan.
In early 2012 Deadline reported that Barry had landed the male lead in the ABC/20th TV pilot Gotham playing Boyo, a detective in the magic underworld of New York City.
