Bill Hader is an American actor, comedian, producer and writer best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and for his supporting roles in comedy films such as Superbad, Hot Rod, Tropic Thunder, Adventureland, Paul, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hader made an early splash on SNL in 2005 with his uncanny impressions including, most notably, Al Pacino and Vincent Price.
Other fan favourites include the clueless Italian celebrity interviewer Vinny Vedecci, disgruntled news correspondent Herb Welch and Stefon, the hipster New York City nightlife correspondent on Weekend Update.
In 2009, Hader won an Emmy Award for Best Animated Series for his work on South Park.
Hader has segued into the feature film world with an impressive list of credits under his belt, including several Judd Apatow productions such as the hit comedies Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He has also appeared in Apatow's Knocked Up and Pineapple Express.
In the feature film Hot Rod, directed by Akiva Schaffer, he was seen alongside SNL castmate Andy Samberg. In 2009, Hader co-starred in Greg Mottola's critically acclaimed feature film Adventureland, opposite SNL co-star Kristen Wiig; Hader co-starred in the box office hit Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian with Ben Stiller, and Tropic Thunder opposite Tom Cruise.
Hader was the lead voice in the 3-D animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs opposite Anna Faris, which earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Feature.
Hader can also be heard as The Voice in the 2010 action comedy Scott Pilgrim vs. The World starring Michael Cera. He also appeared in the comedy feature film Paul, with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Kristen Wiig, directed by Mottola, the third collaboration between the actor and director.
In summer 2011 Hader completed production on The To Do List, a film written and directed by his wife Maggie Carey. In 2012, in the series premiere of The Mindy Project, Hader guest starred as Mindy's ex-boyfriend.
A Second City Los Angeles alum, Hader currently lives in New York with his wife and their daughter.
