Bio
Tracy Dawson is a Canadian actress, singer, comedienne and screenwriter best known for her starring role as Meghan Fitzpatrick in the dark comedy television series Call Me Fitz, since 2010.
She was also one of the writers in Season 1 of Call Me Fitz and won the prestigious Global Writers Apprentice Award for emerging TV writers at the Banff International Television Festival.
A Second City alumnus, Dawson did three shows on the Mainstage, one of which toured to Montreal and Chicago. She and her colleagues were nominated for a Dora Award in 1999 for the Mainstage show Nude Beach Wear: 100% Off.
Dawson was also nominated that year for the Tim Sims award for promising comedians. She lost to friend Gavin Crawford who she went on to work with in major recurring roles on both The Gavin Crawford Show and This Hour has 22 Minutes.
Dawson's first full-length play, entitled "them & us" - a comic tragedy about love - was produced by Toronto's Theatre Passe Muraille to mixed but passionate reviews.
Following the launch of her play, Dawson starred in the Mirvish production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical The Boys in the Photograph, directed by famed Brit director Ben Elton. The musical played both at Winnipeg's MTC and at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre where Dawson received consistently stellar reviews.
Dawson's television credits include recurring roles in the Lifetime series Zoe Busiek: Wild Card and W's Go Girl! She also starred opposite Carly Pope and Christine Baranski in the Lifetime movie Recipe For a Perfect Christmas and has appeared in G-Spot, DOC, JFK JR: America's Prince, among others.
