Bio
Ben Bailey is an American comedian, taxi cab driver and Emmy Award-winning game show host best known as the executive producer for and host of Discovery Channel's Cash Cab, from 2005-2010.
Bailey was also the host of NBC's Who's Still Standing?, a game show designed to keep contestants and viewers on their toes by pitting contestants against one another in a series of high-stakes trivia battles.
Bailey is well known to audiences as host of the highly successful Cash Cab on Discovery Channel. He won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on Cash Cab (for Outstanding Game Show Host), and the show won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show.
Bailey has appeared regularly at comedy festivals over the years and has guest starred on numerous television comedies and dramas, including 30 Rock and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as well as Hope & Faith, The Knights of Prosperity and MADtv.
His one-hour special Road Rage premiered on Comedy Central on 21 May, 2011 and his Comedy Central Presents special aired on 21 April, 2006. He also had a recurring role in the daytime drama One Life to Live.
In addition, Bailey also has performed on several of the late-night talk shows, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Last Call with Carson Daly and Comedy Central's Premium Blend, among many others.
Bailey got his unlikely start as a stand-up comedian when he was mistaken for a comic in the green room of The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, where he was hired to answer the phones. The booker, seeing that the other comics in the room could not get enough of Bailey's humour, signed him on the spot.
After a few years of performing in Los Angeles, Bailey moved back to New York and, for two years, went to open mic nights to hone his craft.
Now with many years under his belt as a stand-up, Bailey continues to perform all over New York City and has achieved international acclaim for both the show Cash Cab and for his comedy performances all over the world.
Bailey is a trained triathlete and has competed in the Half Ironman competition. He currently resides in New Jersey.
