Emma Fryer is an English stand-up comedienne, actress and writer best known for her starring role as Gaynor Jacks, a 29-year-old woman who ran off to find her place in the big wide world at the age of 17 but has to return to her Mum and Dad's house with her tail between her legs, in the comedy-drama television series Home Time.
She co-wrote the series with Neil Edmond and was also a producer on the show.
Emma is also known for her television roles as Tania on Ideal and as Janine, a motivated, dynamic self-starter with a passion for retail and the core brand values, in PhoneShop.
In 2005, she was a finalist in the So You Think You're Funny?, Funny Women and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competitions. She also appeared as one of the spoof presenters in Channel 4's Comedy Lab Swizzcall and played the lead character, Dawn Jones, in the online sitcom Where are the Joneses?.
Fryer was nominated for the Times Breakthrough Award 2010, while Home Time was nominated for Best Sitcom at both the 2010 South Bank Show Awards and The Rose D'Or.
