Tshepi Mashego (also known as Tshepi Mash) is a South African actress and singer best known for her role as Diphuka, a young, naïve impressionable niece of Lucilla who accuses hip-hop star Spiro of having raped her and later has a relationship with David Genaro, in the e.tv soapie Rhythm City, in 2009.
Although only three months long, her role in Rhythm City gained significant attention for her character's scandalous storyline, which ended with her committing suicide by taking sleeping pills.
Tshepi first came to public attention in 2008 when she was voted as the runner-up in the M-Net reality competition High School Musical: Spotlight South Africa.
In 2012 she auditioned for the eighth season of the M-Net reality competition Idols and made it through to the Top 100 in the theatre round, where she was eliminated.
She has appeared in numerous stage productions including Rooikeppie and the Seven Bergies, Sweet Charity, Hair, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Queen, The Blues Brothers, High School Musical and Pinnochio.
In 2013 she had a starring role in the Mzansi Magic musical comedy-drama television miniseries Remix. She also had a guest starring role in an episodes of the SABC1 drama series Intersexions.
Born in Pretoria, she currently resides in Johannesburg.
