Bio
Lizelle de Klerk is a South African actress best known to television viewers for her starring role as Martie in the kykNET period drama series Donkerland, in 2013.
After completing her Hons Degree (Cum Laude) in B.A. Drama at the University of Pretoria, Lizelle made her first musical theatre debut in the 2010-2011 ATKV Action-packed musical comedy, Agent Snoet en die Hondelewe as the starstruck secretary Juffrou Niemand, whom nobody seemed to notice.
At the end of 2011, she booked the lead female role as the conflicted Tinswalo le Roux who is at a crossroads in life in the Independent Art Film, Frozen Time; produced, directed & written by journalist Eric Miyeni.
In 2012 Lizelle played the role of the pregnant town-tart Grieta Geeverniet in the 1950's Afrikaans film-musical, Pretville. In May of the same year she played a conniving Skinnerbek in the musical Dawid.
In 2013, Lizelle played the female lead, Sera in Musiek vir die Agtergrond, a full-feature film written and directed by Sallas de Jager and produced by Bosbok6 Films & Film Factory.
In April she portrayed the role of provocative and daring Jill Mason in Peter Shaffer's Equus which was directed by Alby Michaels and produced by UJ Arts & Culture.
In Stuur groete aan Mannetjies Roux, she plays a confused 16 year old, Engela who is trying to come to terms with her past, in another Bosbok6 Films production.
Her birthday is 21 February.
