Bio
Daniel Janks is a South African actor who has appeared in numerous television series including Isidingo, Scandal!, Unsung Heroes, Generation Kill, Jacob's Cross and Donkerland.
He attended the four-year Bachelor of Dramatic Art degree at Wits University in Johannesburg and in his second year at the university was cast in a student production of John Godber's Bouncers, which was picked up by a producer at the then-Civic Theatre and commissioned for a four week run.
Soon after the show started running Daniel managed to secure a place with one of South Africa's leading acting agencies, MLA.
After graduating - having performed in, designed, written and directed close to 30 productions - Janks entered the professional area in earnest in 2000.
Since then he has appeared in numerous local and international films including Michael Mann's Ali with Will Smith and Mira Nair's Amelia with Hilary Swank and Richard Gere.
Other films he has acted in include Witness to a Kill, Gandhi, My Father, Shake Hands with the Devil, Gums and Noses, Valentown and The Price of Sugar.
Numerous local and international television series including HBO's Generation Kill, ITV's Wild at Heart, M-Net's Jacob's Cross, SABC2's Noah's Ark, SABC1's Sokhulu & Partners, e.tv's Scandal! and Ses'Top La on SABC1.
Janks is also a prolific corporate theatre actor, voice artist and TV advertisement performer.
