Mateus Ward is an American actor best known for his starring role as Jake Sanders, son of Ellen and Brian Sanders who is taken hostage along with her family, in the mystery thriller television series Hostages.
He is also known for his guest starring role as Stevie, the son of Nancy Botwin, in the dark comedy television series Weeds, for which he won the 2012 Young Artist Award for best guest performance.
Ward was born in Burbank, California, but raised on the island of Maui. His first role was in a live theatre production where he impersonated Elvis. In 2009, his family moved back to Los Angeles, where Ward pursued acting in film, television and commercials.
His television credits include Criminal Minds and Sports Show with Norm Macdonald, for which he was nominated for a Young Artist Award and won the 2012 OMNI Youth Music and Actor Award for Outstanding Actor.
Also, he has guest starred in Parenthood, Lab Rats and NCIS. He also plays a schizophrenic teen in the independent feature film Lonely Boy.
Ward currently resides in Los Angeles.
