Renee Lawless is an American actress best known for her starring role as Katheryn Cryer, Jim's very intuitive, pessimistic, malcontent and furtive housewife and the mother of Wyatt and Amanda, in the primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots.
Lawless, a true Southern belle, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida, as a child and still calls it home.
Renée has been living in and out of New York City for many years and has performed in numerous regional theatres all over the country.
She was seen in the national tour of Wicked, where she played the roles of the Midwife and Madame Morrible. Renée was also seen in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, both on Broadway and the national tour.
Her TV and film credits include Heavens to Betsy (with Dolly Parton), The Obituary and The Lucky Ones.
She received her bachelor's degree from Stetson University and her master's degree in vocal performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
