Bio
Tashi Tagg is a South African actress, author, blogger, publisher, editor, voiceover artist and drama specialist.
Born to a South African mother and Greek father, Tashi grew up in Durban, South Africa (in her formative years) and later moved to Cape Town where she attended Pinelands High School.
In 1994 Tashi graduated with a Drama Honours Degree from the University of Cape Town and went on to perform, direct and teach drama. She has taught acting, improvisation, drama in education, voice and theatre innovation at schools, colleges and the University of Cape Town.
In 1999 she received a Fleur Du Cap nomination for Most Promising Newcomer for her role as Celia in the Shakespearean comedy As You Like It at Maynardville open-air theatre in Cape Town. In the same year she played a cameo role in the film Pirates of the Plain.
In 2000 she directed an HIV awareness stage production for Theatre of the Deaf. Between 2001 and 2004 she co-authored two Arts and Culture textbooks for Oxford University Press and one Life Skills textbook.
In 2002 she launched the website www.TashiTagg.com with her husband and business partner Luke Tagg. The site was an opinionated and irreverent social media community covering pop culture and television and was the first South African platform to provide a blogging platform for the South African public.
The site evolved into South Africa's first and premiere television website www.tvsa.co.za which Tashi launched with Luke in May 2006.
Through her work on TVSA Tashi has made various guest appearances on television shows including SABC3's breakfast show Expresso where she co-hosted inserts about the reality shows Survivor and The Amazing Race.
Other shows she has made guest appearances on include the magazine show Top Billing, the eNCA News channel, the teen show Hectic Nine-9, the celebrity entertainment show Flash! and the magazine show 48hOURS TV.
