Darmirra Brunson is an American actress and comedian best known for her starring role as Drew Scott, Danny's eccentric friend and coworker who also happens to have a crush on him, in the television sitcom Love Thy Neighbor.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Darmirra moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 10. When she was 14, she made her first movie appearance along side her father, comedian Darryl Brunson, in the independent film Chatroom.
She attended Birmingham High School where she honed in on her comedic timing while performing in various plays and state competitions.
At this early age Darmirra attracted the attention of Director and Producer Garry Marshall. She later landed a guest role in the series Girlfriends when she was discovered by casting director Robi Reed.
Although Darmirra has performed stand up in such clubs as The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Laugh Factory, her true passion lies within Sketch Comedy. This passion earned her a spot in the Showtime Comedy Special Chocolate Sundaes hosted by Tommy Davidson.
Darmirra is a Youtube performer, doing celebrity impersonations and original characters. She is the writer, director and editor of The Darmirra Show. Her show has over 40,000 subscribers.
Brunson is known for doing parodies of entertainers such as Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Whitney Houston and Wendy Williams just to name a few.
Director and writer Tyler Perry discovered Darmirra's work while conducting a nationwide talent search/contest. Over 16,000 submissions were made and Darmirra was chosen as the winner.
