Celia Ireland is an Australian actress best known for her television roles as Regina Butcher in All Saints and as Liz Birdsworth, a functioning alcoholic and rabble-rouser never far from the surface, on the prison drama series Wentworth.
Ireland has starred in dozens of Australian television, film and theatre productions throughout her career. Nominated for an AFI Award for Best Supporting Actress in Australian Rules, Celia's television credits include roles in Home and Away, All Saints, Packed to the Rafters, Laid, McLeod's Daughters, Water Rats, A Country Practice, Me and My Monsters and My Place.
Her extensive theatre resume includes the Sydney Theatre Company's Transparency, Cyrano de Bergerac, Navigating, Comedy of Errors, As You Like It and for the Bell Shakespeare Company Pericles and Twelfth Night.
Celia is a qualified Primary School Teacher and has a Diploma of Counseling and Groupwork from Relationships Australia.
Born in Newcastle, Celia resides in Sydney.
