Bio
Junior Miya is a South African actor, singer, model and dancer best known for his starring role as Blessing Mvelasi, the son of a rich property developer and a 'desperate housewife' whose journey is to learn that money cannot buy friendship, in the SABC2 youth drama series Snake Park.
Junior has appeared in various theatre shows, including the Fundza for Fun theatre show for the Department of Arts & Culture, alongside Given Stuurman. He has also appeared in several commercials such as OMO and also various pilots and youth campaigns.
Junior is known for being a TV presenter in 7th grade on SABC2's youth programme School TV. He then decided that he would be an actor and has been growing ever since.
Aside from his role in Snake Park, he also starred in the "Lokshin Bioksop" bubblegum film Ke Summa Boss, a coming-of-age story about a young man who decides to steal Mam'fundisi's panties off her washing line on a hot summer day, an act which sets off a series of events that get him in and out of trouble. The film debuted on DStv's Mzansi Magic channel on Saturday 28 June, 2014.
In his free time Junior enjoys acting, making music and writing for film and television. He is an avid sportsman and has experience as a model. He also enjoys going out with friends and skateboarding.
He is currently studying directing, writing, cinematography and performance at the AFDA Film School. His skills include accents and dialects, presenting, on/off-stage combat, dance, singing, improvisation, skateboarding, raise just one eyebrow, soccer and public speaking.
