Altovise Lawrence is a South African actress best known for winning the first season of BET Africa's first ever original production, Top Actor.
From Boksburg, Johannesburg, she graduated with honours from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts in 2013.
Her professional acting debut was in the James Ngcobo-directed play The Colored Museum, which ran from January to February 2014 at the Market Theatre.
Her first television appearance was a minor role as an interviewee on the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo, in late 2014.
On 2 April, 2015, BET Africa launched on DStv and its first South African original production was Top Actor, in which 12 aspiring actors competed for a R100,000 prize and agency representation.
Altovise won the competition, beating Francois Jacobs and Nicolas Nkuna in the finale and was signed to Restless Talent Management. She was 23 at the time.
In March 2016 Altovise was cast in the e.tv soapie Scandal! as Chantal, love interest to Stokkies.
