Steve Zissis is an American actor and writer best known for his starring role as Alex Pappas, an aspiring actor and Brett's best friend, in the comedy-drama television series Togetherness, which he co-created.
A native of New Orleans, Zissis studied acting at New York University. He is a frequent collaborator of Jay and Mark Duplass.
Zissis starred in 2005's The Intervention, 2008's Baghead and 2009's The Do-Deca Pentathlon. In 2011 he acted in Jeff, Who Lives at Home alongside Jason Segel, Ed Helms and Judy Greer.
He has guest starred on several television shows, including The Office, Parks and Recreation and The League.
