Nicole Fortuin is a South African actress, dancer and model best known for her starring role as Maryke van Niekerk in the SABC3 drama series Roer Jou Voete.
In 2008, at the age of 16, she was a Top 4 finalist on e.tv's first dance competition, Shield Teens No Sweat Dance Challenge. At the time she was a Grade 10 learner at Settlers High School in Cape Town.
She graduated with an Honours Equivalent BA degree in Theatre & Performance from The University of Cape Town in 2014.
Nicole has acted in numerous theatre productions, including the Chris Weare-directed productions of Curl Up & Dye, Mephisto, Lion on the Path and Twelfth Night at Macbeth's. She also appeared in The Crucible (directed by Clare Stopford) and played the lead title character in Lara Bye's production of Eurydice.
She also appeared in a number of student films including 4, Robot, Alice, Breathing Room and A Set of Strange Occurrences.
In 2015 she landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as Maryke van Niekerk in SABC3's first ever Afrikaans-language drama series Roer Jou Voete.
In 2017 she had a guest starring role in the kykNET drama series Waterfront, appearing in Season 1, Episode 7 on 21 November.
