Uzo Aduba is an American actress and singer best known for her role as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the Netflix television series Orange Is the New Black.
For her role on the show she won the 2014 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, and the 2015 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Uzo made her television debut in 2012, playing a nurse in an episode of the police procedural series Blue Bloods entitled "Nightmares" (Season 3, Episode 7).
In September 2012 she landed the role of Crazy Eyes on Orange Is the New Black, initially as a supporting actress and later as a regular cast member. The role propelled her to global recognition, accelerated by the high profile awards she won for it.
She has subsequently made appearances on numerous shows including Hell's Kitchen, Saturday Night Live and chat shows like Chelsea Lately, The View, Conan, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Live with Kelly and Michael and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The daughter of Nigerian parents, she was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
