Yolanda Kgaka (credited earlier in her career as Yolanda Msimanga) is a South African actress best known for her starring role as Noxolo in the Mzansi Magic teen drama series Is'thunzi.
She was born in Soweto but moved to Taiwan with her parents in 2000 where she lived for two years, where her late father Mzwakhe Msimanga was a diplomat.
Yolanda joined an agency and drama school in 2005 after being encouraged by her aunt and her acting career began at the age of 10 when she landed the role of Lerato on the kykNET soapie Binnelanders, in 2008. While still in primary school, Yolanda landed a featured extra role in the international film Attack on Darfur.
In 2009 she landed the starring role of Bongi on the fifth and final season of the SABC1 youth drama series Soul Buddyz (which only aired in 2011). Soon after shooting Soul Buddyz, Yolanda went on to play the role of Lou Lou on the M-Net original drama series Jacob's Cross, for the show's last two seasons.
At the age of 17, she appeared as Winnie Matyolo in a documentary based on Nelson Mandela's life, which was directed by Amanda Lane. She matriculated from St. Dominic's Boksburg in the year 2015 and in 2016 began a BCom Law degree.
Yolanda landed her second starring role in television in the Mzansi Magic teen drama series Is'thunzi, which premiered in October 2016. In the series she plays Noxolo, a shy and smart girl with a shameful secret. It was the first show in which she was credited as Yolanda Kgaka.
