Shalima Mkongi is a South African actress, presenter, dancer and voice artist best known for her role as Ashanti, Justice's younger daughter (and Botho's sister) who is the spoilt, wild child apple of her father's eye, in the SABC2 telenovela Keeping Score.
It was her first starring role in television.
Having matriculated from Parklands College high school in 2009, Shalima attended the Waterfront Theatre School and AFDA before doing a BA in Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 2015.
Her theatre resumé includes roles in productions like The Crucible, Titus Andronicus, A Raisin in the Sun, Kill Me Please, Wounds to the Face and Stranger Hear Myself.
Shalima was also a guest presenter on the SABC2 youth show Hectic Nine-9.
In 2016 she landed her first acting role on television on SABC2's first ever telenovela, Keeping Score. Her character, Ashanti, attempts to get her father's attention by constantly playing up, and is the problem child of the family, flirting with anorexia, promiscuity and later alcohol and cocaine.
In 2017 she had a guest starring role as Funeka in the SABC1 sitcom Thuli noThulani, appearing in Season 1, Episode 2 (16 August, 2017).
