Bio
David Sherwood is a South African actor who has worked as a professional freelancer since 1967 in film, theatre and television.
Trained in the dramatic arts at Marlborough College in Liverpool and Birmingham Theatre School, David's early work came mostly in theatre and radio plays.
He went on to perform in numerous theatrical productions including Norman is That You? (directed by Rex Garner in 1976), PS Your Cat is Dead for Pieter Toerien Productions in 1977; and other productions like Hamlet, Macbeth, Town Guard and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
David has appeared in numerous feature films and TV movies including Steel Dawn, Paradise Road, Jewel of the Gods, Kringe in 'n Bos, American Ninja 4: The Annihilation, Operation Delta Force 2: Mayday, Heel Against the Head, Operation Delta Force 5: Random Fire, Hansie: The Movie, How to Steal 2 Million, The Challenger Disaster, Nothing for Mahala and Konfetti.
In the early seventies, David played the role of Danny Conroy on the ITV soap opera Crossroads. He went on to perform in numerous television series including the retro series Tropical Heat, Shaka Zulu, Rhodes, The Adventures of Sinbad, Konings and 'Sgudi 'Snaysi.
Subsequent television productions include The Lab, The Coconuts, Shreds and Dreams, Let Heaven Wait, Rhythm City, Ihawu, Those Who Can't, Isidingo, Umlilo and Abo Mzala. He also had a guest role in the USA series Covert Affairs and appeared in the pilot of the intended miniseries The Message.
In 2016 he joined the cast of the SABC1 sitcom Gauteng Maboneng for its third season, playing the role of Dirk.
