DJ Doowap (real name Khetsiwe Morgan) is a Swazi-born South African club and radio DJ best known for hosting a show on YFM 99.2 which is heavily influenced by electronic bass music.
She is an ASE (Academy of Sound Engineering) Sound Engineering graduate and live mix deejay that dabbles in Hip Hop, Trap, Grime, Gqom and Bass. She also collaborates with female bass rapper and performer Lex LaFoy, for whom she is a DJ.
DJ Doowap relocated to South Africa in 2012 after living and studying sound engineering in London for four years. Her love for bass-driven music emerged whilst spending a lot time in the underground music scene, clubs, and various music studios.
In 2013, after her first gig at Roxy's in Melville, she was scouted by YFM 99.2 and began work as a radio hostess on the Hot 99 Dubstep chart.
She focuses most of her attention on live mixing and has played at numerous events, including OppiKoppi, Zone 6 (Soweto), Throwback ChillOut (Randlords), Kitcheners (Braamfontein), Inner City Outer Space (And Nightclub), Great Dane Braamfontein) and Tofo Ocean Festival (Mozambique).
She is best known to television viewers for hosting the SABC1 shows Tastemakers and One Mic, both in 2017.
