Carissa Cupido is a South African television and radio presenter who rose to fame by winning the reality competition series TLC's Next Great Presenter, in 2016.
Part of the prize package was to host another show on the channel, TLC's Most Extreme, which debuted in February 2017. In the show, Carissa flew to London to host the show, which showcased some of TLC's noteworthy clips from the channel's archive.
In August that year she was named the official voice of TLC Entertainment Africa and in October 2017 hosted her own show, This is Life with Carissa Cupido, in which she followed the personal journeys of families about to experience extraordinary circumstances, uncensored as they happened.
Also in October, she hosted a six-part series called One Step At a Time, which follows the journey of six cancer survivors who faced the battle of overcoming the disease.
In April 2018 she joined the radio station Yfm, initially hosting the Run This Town show from 19h00-22h00, Monday to Thursday.
In June 2018 she began co-hosting (with Thando Thabethe) the TLC series Thando Bares All, a tell-all late night talk show. In the show, Carissa hosts street segments in which she asks members of the public thought-provoking questions.
