Bio
Germandt Geldenhuys is a South African actor and singer best known for his role as Louis Koster in the kykNET soapie Binnelanders.
Joining the show during Season 12 in 2016, he was promoted to series regular midway through the season.
Germandt competed in the World Championships of Performing Arts in 2006, winning the Grand Champion Award for Vocals.
After matriculating in Johannesburg, he pursued his tertiary studies at the Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town. Under the tutelage of Delia Sainsbury, Paul Griffiths and the late Keith Galloway, he completed a Licentiate in Musical Theatre and a Licentiate in Drama from the Trinity Guildhall College of London.
On completion of his studies, he performed in Richard Loring's Kaapse Stories from the Mother City in Sea Point, Cape Town.
Returning to Johannesburg in 2015, he has since performed in numerous theatre productions including Kaapse Stories, The Jungle Book, Sister Act: The Musical, Sweeney Todd, Sneeuwitjie, Parlour Songs and the Janice Honeyman pantomime Jack & the Beanstalk.
He has done voice overs for a number of corporate clients including Nedbank and Vodacom, as well as inserts for Radio Sonder Grense (RSG) and for 48 Hours TV.
Germandt was also in a commercial for Incredible Connection, in 2015.
He made his television debut in the second season of the kykNET drama series Sterlopers in 2016, before landing his role as Louis Koster on Binnelanders in the same year.
He was a guest participant on the first season of the kykNET comedy panel show Parlement Parlement, appearing in the Season 1 finale (which aired on 2 October, 2017).
He made his film acting debut in the 2018 feature Kanarie, which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film for his role as Ludolf Otterman.
The following year Germandt was the featured guest artist in the Season 44 finale of the SABC2 music game show Noot vir Noot, which aired on 24 January, 2019.
