Xolani Mayekiso is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Thato Maake on the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen.
A graduate from AFDA with a BA Live Performance, Xolani first appeared in an acting role on television in 2016 when he was cast in the Mzansi Magic telemovie Izinqumo Esizenzayo (The Decisions We Make), which aired as part of the channel's "Lokshin Bioskop" made-for-TV movie strand featuring township tales.
The following year he played the cameo role of Vusi in a scene on the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy, which aired on 2 March, 2017.
Xolani got his big break later in 2017 when he was cast as Thato Maake, a kasi guy with a drug problem who was on his way to getting better, on the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen.
He made his first appearance on the show in Season 2, Episode 72 (which aired on 7 November, 2017). Originally recurring in Season 2 and the first part of Season 3, he was promoted to series regular during the third season.
Xolani also had a role in the movie Umhlanga, a film created by interns from M-Net's Magic in Motion Academy for young filmmakers. The film aired on Mzansi Magic on 3 February, 2018.
He is multilingual, speaking Afrikaans, English, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sesotho, Setswana and Sepedi.
