Bio
Batsile Ramasodi is a South African actor, rapper and MC best known for his role as Thabiso in the SABC2 drama series Bone of My Bones.
Originally recurring in the first season, he was promoted to starring cast for Season 2.
Influenced by French director and cinematographer Michelle Gondry, as well as actor and script writer Rowan Atkinson, Batsile attained a degree in Drama from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2004.
He hosted the Castle World Wind Tour in 2005 which visited all the major cities around South Africa and in 2011 he co- hosted the Back to the City hip hop festival alongside Lee Kasumba.
In 2012 he was the host of the Mzansi Magic reality competition series Diamond in the Ruff, which sought to turn 13 young women from inexperienced candidates into accomplished models.
In 2013 he returned as host of Back to the City alongside Rorisang Thandekiso.
Batsile made his television acting debut in the role of a detective on the SABC2 legal drama series Justice for All, appearing in Season 4, Episode 11 (which aired on 12 June, 2007).
He followed this up with the role of Chauke on the SABC3 soapie Isidingo, in 2008.
Since then he has acted in numerous television series including Jacob's Cross, Zabalaza, Rhythm City and Generations.
He also played two different roles in different seasons of the e.tv anthology series Mzansi Love. In the Season 2 episode "Label it Love" (which aired on 13 May, 2014) he played Joe Silongo, the charismatic owner of a luxury fashion label. He returned in the Season 3 episode "Love Lost, Love Found" (which aired on 22 July, 2014) in the role of David, a man grieving after the sudden death of his wife.
Batsile played the role of Rambo in the first ever episode of the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen, which aired on 1 August, 2016.
He followed this up with the role of Thabiso in the SABC2 drama series Bone of My Bones, appearing from the series premiere on 1 March, 2017. Originally recurring in the first season, he was promoted to starring cast for Season 2.
He next played the recurring role of Knife in the e.tv drama series Harvest, first appearing in Season 1, Episode 5 (which aired on 29 May, 2017). A few days later he made his debut on the e.tv telenovela Broken Vows, in Season 1, Episode 139 (which aired on 1 June).
He landed another recurring role on the second season of the Mzansi Magic anthology drama series Imposter, making his first appearance in Season 2, Episode 10 (which aired on 9 December, 2018).
The following year he played the maître d' on the first season of the BBC Lifestyle dating game show First Dates South Africa, which premiered on 16 October, 2019.
Batsile has appeared in numerous corporate advertisements for companies including KFC, Spar, MTN, Vodacom, Toyota, Sof 'n Free and Hungry Lion, among others.
Apart from television and radio, Batsile has appeared in theatre productions that have had seasons at the South African State Theatre, The National Arts Festival in Grahamstown as well as Festival of the Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Feature films he has acted in include Endgame, Revolt and Stroomop.
