Bio
Brenda Mhlongo is a South African actress best known for her role as Nandi on the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy.
She is also known for her starring role as Rafiki in the stage production of Disney's The Lion King.
She first appeared on television in an episode of the e.tv anthology series eKasi: Our Stories entitled "Kept Apart (Season 5, Episode 19), which aired on 28 July, 2014.
Later that year she had a guest starring role in an episode of the SABC1 political thriller series Ihawu.
In 2015 she had another guest role, this time as Buhle on the first season of the SABC1 soapie Uzalo.
He big break in television came in 2016 when she was cast as Jack Mabaso's (Vusi Kunene) wife Nandi on the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy. She played the role for two years before departing the show in October 2018, after her contract was not renewed.
In 2017 she was the featured guest in an episode of the SABC1 music talk show Zaziwa, which aired on 16 July (Season 5, Episode 12).
A few months later she was a guest on the SABC3 lifestyle show Top Billing, appearing in Season 27, Episode 20 (which aired on 14 September, 2017).
Brenda was a guest presenter at the 11th SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, held on 25 November, 2018.
The following year she was cast as Zodwa on the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen, making her first appearance in the role in the Season 3 finale, which aired on 26 July, 2019. She continued in the role in Season 4.
In 2020, Brenda replaced Fundi Zwane mid-season in the role of Priscilla "KaMadonsela" Bhengu on the e.tv soapie Imbewu, from 27 July, after Zwane was unable to negotiate a salary increase.
In 2022 she joined the cast of the 1Magic soapie The River in the role of Nomafu, Bukhosi's younger, second wife - a terrible stepmother but she knows how to clean money.
Brenda made her debut on the show in Season 5, Episode 75, which aired on 20 May, 2022.
