Bio
Stiaan Bruwer is a South African actor, voice artist and singer best known for his role as Kobus in the SABC2 telenovela Die Sentrum.
After matriculating from Hoërskool Durbanville in Cape Town, he attended CityVarsity for his tertiary education, graduating in 2017 from the Campus of Performing Arts.
In the same year he started as lead vocalist of the hard rock band Black Pistol.
Stiaan made his feature film debut with a small part as a soldier in the 2019 war drama Moffie, about a young man in 1981 South Africa who must complete his brutal and racist two years of compulsory military service while desperately maintaining the secrecy of his homosexuality.
In the same year he made his television acting debut in an episode of the Investigation Discovery true crime series 'Til Death Do Us Part, which unveils the breaking point in relationships when love and murder collide.
The following year he voiced a small role in an episode of the kykNET crime drama series Die Byl which aired on 12 January, 2020 (Season 2, Episode 2).
Stiaan landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as call centre helpline agent Kobus van Deventer in the SABC2 telenovela Die Sentrum (The Centre), which revolves around a group of eight diverse counsellors who work together at a helpline call centre.
The series premiered on 8 April, 2021.
