Keabetswe Mashugane is a South African actress and MC who rose to fame with her role as Princess Oarabile on the Mzansi Magic telenovela Greed & Desire.
Having matriculated from Assumption Convent School in 2006, she attended the University of Johannesburg where she studied Business Management and Marketing, graduating in 2010.
Keaby took a hiatus from corporate employment in 2015 to pursue a career in the film and television industry.
She made her television acting debut in the role of Grace on the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Road, in 2015.
The following year she landed her breakout role as Princess Oarabile, the well-educated but very traditional fiancée of Maru (played by Thato Molamu), on the Mzansi Magic telenovela Greed & Desire.
The series premiered on 4 April, 2016.
Keaby next had a guest starring role in an episode of the SABC1 legal drama series Sokhulu & Partners which aired on 31 July, 2016 (Season 3, Episode 9).
Later that year she had a featured role as Sophie in the StarTimes One telenovela Maseko Ties, which initially aired on StarSat in 2016 and on BET Africa on DStv in 2017.
The following year she presented a lifestyle series on StarSat called Home Matters and played the role of Emma in the BET legal drama series Grit, which premiered on 23 October, 2017.
Keaby played the lead in the Mzansi Original Movie rom-com Moratuwa, which aired on Mzansi Magic on Saturday 10 February, 2018. The film was created and produced by the interns of M-Net's Magic in Motion Academy for young filmmakers.
She next played the lead role of Lusaka on the NFVF-funded short film The Rose, which debuted on the online streamer Showmax in 2020.
In the same year she played the guest starring role of Precious Cele in the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, in an episode which aired on 17 July, 2020.
Keaby also had a recurring role as Captain Neo in the SABC1 drama series Family Secrets, making her first appearance in Season 1, Episode 8 (which aired on 25 October, 2020).
The following year she had a recurring role as Angelina in uBettina Wethu, a South African adaptation of the Colombian telenovela 'Yo soy Betty, la fea', also known as Ugly Betty.
She first appeared in the role in the series premiere on SABC1 on 5 April, 2021.
In the same year she returned to Family Secrets for Season 2, promoted from recurring cast member to series regular for the second season.
