Bio
Amanda Seome is a South African actress best known for her role as Joyce in the SABC1 drama series Side Dish.
Hailing from Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal, she attended the Durban University of Technology from 2016-2018, graduating with a National Diploma in Drama and Performing Arts.
In 2019 she furthered her drama and theatre studies at the Duma Ndlovu Academy, a tutorial programme that serves as a bridging course between those who graduate from institutions of drama and the performing arts industry.
During her studies Amanda appeared in a number of student theatre productions including The Trials of Brother Jero by Wole Soyinka, My Children! My Africa! by Athol Fugard and Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.
She made her professional screen debut in 2021 when she was cast in the Mzansi Magic telemovie Inkwekhwezi, which aired as part of the channel's "Lokshin Bioskop" strand of one-hour television films.
The film follows Khwezi, an ambitious athlete who does everything in her power to impress her sport's driven father, only for her world to suddenly change when she loses him abruptly.
Directed by Thulile Mthembu, Inkwekhwezi stars Kgomotso Christopher, Ditebogo Ledwaba and Chris Q. Radebe.
The film first aired on Mzansi Magic on Saturday 10 July, 2021.
Amanda next starred as Joyce in the second season of the SABC1 drama series Side Dish, replacing Matshepo Maleme (Season 1) in the role.
The second season premiered on Sunday 3 April, 2022.
