Luyanda Zwane is a South African actress best known for her starring role as the title character in the Mzansi Wethu telenovela Sibongile & The Dlaminis.
Born and raised in Durban, she matriculated from Kingsway High School, where she took part in school musicals and drama competitions, and studied drama as a subject.
She landed her first professional acting role when she landed the guest starring role of Lelo, a teenage girl, in an episode of the e.tv soapie Durban Gen (Season 2, Episode 141).
Luyanda next landed the recurring role of Nomonde Gumede, a beautiful teenage girl and a wolf in sheep's clothing who unlocks Pandora's box and wreaks havoc on those around her, in the BET telenovela Redemption.
She made her first appearance in the role in Season 1, Episode 94, which aired on 7 March, 2023.
In the same year she was cast in the role of Vundlazi on the Mzansi Magic drama series Shaka iLembe.
Luyanda landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as Sibongile Mbambo, an innocent young rural woman forced to leave her family and dreams behind to become a domestic worker in the lavish mansion of the affluent Dlamini family, in the Mzansi Wethu telenovela Sibongile & The Dlaminis.
The series - the first original telenovela to air on the channel - premiered on 31 July, 2023.
