Wendy is a member of the boards of Eskom and AVENG and a member of the council of the University of South Africa (UNISA) and the Millennium Labour Council.
As former CEO of FirstRand's retail business, she is credited with the significant turnaround and growth in performance shown by First National Bank over the last five years.
Since 1994, Wendy has been involved in facilitating strong partnerships between business and government. She is a director of Business Against Crime and chairman of Partners for Housing, a new initiative set up at the request of Housing Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to facilitate partnership between the private sector and government.
She represents South Africa on the Global Trade and Poverty Forum and is an executive committee member of the South African chapter of the International Women's Forum.
She is also a member of the working committee for South African Women in Dialogue (SAWID).
Wendy received the South African Businesswoman of the Year award in 1995 and the Top 300 award for the top woman in business in 2004.
